Wine tasting
  • Tasting Note
Our Beaune Blanc 2021 has a bright pale gold colour. It reveals aromas of honey, acacia, and vanilla on the nose. The palate is ample with notes of citrus fruit and fresh almond. A nice tension on the finish.

Press review
    • Beaune blanc 2018 - Bill Nanson - January 2020 - "Nice purity"

Ooh - that's a bright punchy, really attractive nose of fresh but ripe fruit - nice purity. Round, perfumed, the fruit a little less classy than the nose - in terms of ripeness, but still a refreshing tasty wine, modestly oaked.

    • Beaune Blanc 2016 - The World of Fine Wine - March 2018 - 89+/100

Sleeker than usual but authentic. Fine, gentle texture informed by mature citrus and orchard fruits, greengage, pear, and peach. Wafting aromatic profile, tingling acidity. - Michael Edwards

    • Beaune Blanc 2016 - Jancis Robinson - January 2018 - 16/20

Spicy nose, cooked green apple fruit and a nice dairy character giving creamy texture. Pretty simple, but nicely made. Drink 2017-2020

    • Beaune Blanc 2013 - Wineaccess - Mai 2015 - "Gorgeous "The just-released 2013 Louis Latour Beaune Blanc is drawn largely from Latour's Premier Cru Les Grèves and Aux Cras, with a splash of higher-toned Chardonnay grown on Montagne Saint-Désiré — all located a stone's throw from Corton-Charlemagne (see the map above)! Brilliant pale-gold in color, infused with mouthwatering aromas of ripe apple and pear, a hint of anise and honeysuckle. Unusually rich and wound-up — as is so common among the top 2013 white Burgundies — dense and compact yet still terrifically vibrant. Serve this gorgeous Chardonnay in oversized Riedel, give it 30 minutes of air, and wait for the fireworks to begin. Drink now-2022.
    • Beaune blanc 2012 - Tom Cannavan's Wine Pages - 90

A year older than the Montagny 1er Cru also tasted, but a different style too, this richer and more buttery, with a sheen of creamy oak over riper fruit. In the mouth that nuttiness and Cox's pippin character give more weight and there is more texture, the extra ounce of ripeness nicely offset by some grip and keen acid in the finish. Delicious

    • Beaune 2010 - Wine Spectator Online - February 2013 - 90/100This elegant, lacy white features apple and lemon flavors accented by honey. The supple texture ushers in a candied lemon finish. Shows nice cut, too. Drink now through 2018. By Bruce Sanderson, USA.
    • Beaune Blanc 2009 - Wine Tomas Word Press - December 2012 Nose: butter, pear, flowery and expresive.
Palate: apple and pear, rather good mineral notes, good acidity, minerally aftertaste.
Summary: classiscal nose, a bit more firm and somewhat leaner on the palate than the nose indicates. Approachable now. By Thomas (Word Press - Sweden)
    • Beaune Blanc 2009 - - August 2012 - "Great on its own"This wine centres around crisp and sharp flavours of grapefruit and lemon. This wine is great on its own. (Scotland)
    • Beaune blanc 2009 - Tom Cannavan's wine-pages - September 2012 - 89/100Clear and fresh on the nose, the little nuances of oatmeal and acacia honey just add some richness to straightforward citrus and apple fruit. On the palate the subtle oak supports with some very discreet toast and vanilla, but again it is that racy core of cool white fruit that drives this. A fairly big wine in terms of structure and alcohol (13.5% ABV) but really rather elegant too. By Tom Cannavan (UK).
    • Beaune blanc 2006 - Wine Spectator - June 24th, 2008 - 87-90/100Very well-balanced, fresh, honey and peach-scented. By Bruce Sanderson (USA).
    • Beaune blanc 2006 - - July 2008 - 85-87/100An expressive and slightly exotic nose of straw and melon leads to round, soft, forward and generous flavors that possess good mid-palate fat and a naturally sweet finish. This is attractive in its fashion if a bit simple. By Allen Meadows (USA).
    • Beaune blanc 2006 - Jancis Robinson - February 2008 - 16.5/20Delicate but complex mix of smoke, blossom and spiced honey - very inviting. More obviously oaky on the palate, creamy and soft and probably not for the long term. Drink 2008-11. (UK)
    • 2001 Beaune - Irish Independent - April 27th, 2003 :This wine is fresh and younthful, with apple and mineral flavours and crisp acidity.
    • 2001 Beaune Blanc - Wine Spectator - 87 points :Pretty fruit aromas are followed through with lime, honey, floral, toasted pine-nuts and mineral notes in this medium-bodied, attractive, not-too-oaky white Burgundy. Drink now through 2006.
    • 2000 Beaune - Wine Enthusiast - August 2002 - 86 points :Without big oak or big fruit to make it ungaintly, this is a real food-friendly Chardonnay. The delicate floral aromas and understated yet finely etched pear and almond flavors almost seem designed to show off that special weekend dish you just spent hours making.
    • 1997 Beaune - reviewed by Parker - the Wine Advocate - June 21st, 1999 - 87-88 points :I was impressed by Latour's 1997 Beaune, which displays hazalnut, smoke, and toasty scents. It offers excellent richness, an oily texture, a medium body, and long, pure flavors of sweet pears and apples. Anticipated maturity: now 2002.
