- The wines of Chassagne-Montrachet offer great value and timeless image. These wines command lower prices compared with those from the neighbouring appellations of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, and represent good value for money. The wines are bold and reminiscent of exotic fruits and Morgeot, which lies mid-slope with a south-easterly exposure, is a perfect example of this style. Morgeot lies on the border between the Côte d'Or and Saone-et-Loire regions, which was a boundary in the Gallo-Roman period. At this time this plot of land was called Morga from the Latin margo which means edge border from which today's name Morgeot is derived.

- Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru "Morgeot" 2018 - Wine Enthusiast - January 2020 - 93/100 A hint of Mirabelle, lemon, wet chalk and fresh, cold cream make for an enticing nose on this wine. The palate, with its gentle freshness in 2018, presents finessed texture and creaminess displayed against a backdrop of wet chalkiness. Subtlety, precision and elegance are the name of the game.

Here too there are notes of petrol and resin suffusing the aromas of ripe pear and apple compote and pretty floral nuances. The caressing yet solidly powerful flavors possess fine mid-palate density before concluding in a generous and rich but balanced and agreeably finale that offers good depth.
- Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Morgeot" blanc 2018 - Bill Nanson - January 2020 - "Bravo"
A very nicely vibrant nose - wide, mineral and inviting. Bigger, more muscle, a little more structural. Similarly mouth-watering, a little more to wait for - great finishing, needing just a little more time for 'completely delicious' but it's already close! Bravo.

A slightly riper nose offers up aromas of white peach, honey, petrol and resin hints that are in keeping with the equally ripe, round and very rich full-bodied flavors that are quite generous, indeed even opulent, all wrapped in a delicious and solidly complex finish. This is very Morgeot in character and should drink well early if desired. 89/2019+

- Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Morgeot" blanc 2006 - Jack Brice on Wine Blog - November 2012 - "Favorite Chardonnay of the Summer"The color is a serious gold, nothing light or thin about it. The nose is light, toasty and slightly floral, followed by flavors that flow strongly but smoothly through stone fruits, apricot, honey, oak and finish with a nutty toastiness that is wonderfully inviting to the next sip. For me, the key to this wine's wonderfulness is balance - all the flavors, even though they are intense, are beautifully balanced throughout - and for that reason I declare that this is my favorite chardonnay of the summer.
